An innovative company has created a drone that sucks garbage from water. The WasteShark™ collects plastics, microplastics and floating debris by moving through water and collecting them in its body. This technology is a big step toward reducing plastic pollution in our oceans and waterways. Created by RanMarine, the WasteShark™ was modelled after another efficient large feeder, the whale shark. The drone can hold 200 litres of trash and work for 16 hours a day. Its technology tests and monitors the water for waste, chemicals and alien plant species. Then it moves around collecting the trash for disposal.
