Companies are constantly searching for more efficient and affordable options to perform routine and hazardous tasks in an industrial environment. Self-navigating drones could be the solution, but configuring them to maneuver indoor spaces without a strong GPS signal can be expensive. Utilizing advanced imaging analysis and QR codes, researchers at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) developed a new cost-effective method to make standard drones with cameras capable of autonomously performing jobs in GPS deprived hazardous areas. Drones equipped with INL’s new Route Operable Unmanned Navigation of Drones (ROUNDS) software can be used to automate tedious tasks at power plants or factories to improve operational efficiencies, lower costs, and reduce the risk of workplace injuries.

Drone footage of hemp plant fire | | montrosepress.com

https://www.dronebook.org/m/sites/view/Drone-footage-of-hemp-plant-fire---montrosepresscom

https://www.dronebook.org/m/sites/view/Drone-footage-of-hemp-plant-fire---montrosepresscom

Flying high was a great movie in its day. This drone footage reminded me of that movie title while watching. The Delta County Emergency Management responded to a fire earlier this week. Delta County Sheriff Mark Taylor sent deputies to block traffic and says the cause of the fire at a hemp-drying plant is not currently known. The blaze, he said, looked pretty bad and was putting off black smoke. Access to the area remained restricted Wednesday morning, according to Taylor. Taylor said Wednesday that the fire may be burning well into the coming week. Multiple agencies responded to provide mutual aid.

It Sure Looks Like China Is Turning Old Fighter Jets Into Drones - Popular Mechanics

https://www.dronebook.org/m/sites/view/It-Sure-Looks-Like-China-Is-Turning-Old-Fighter-Jets-Into-Drones-

https://www.dronebook.org/m/sites/view/It-Sure-Looks-Like-China-Is-Turning-Old-Fighter-Jets-Into-Drones-

The drones could be used as decoys or to carry out their own combat missions.
